LANE COVE BUSHLAND HOME
Nestled in a mature Sydney bushland setting, the magic of this house & its forest has been revealed. We used ‘ buckets' of white, and a clever but not costly re plan to uplift this previously dated & dark family home. We re oriented the kitchen plan by simply spinning it onto an adjacent wall. A supporting dividing wall that needed to be retained was simply opened in the non supporting centre; and a dining banquette seat & console attached to it to give it purpose. This opened up a connection between kitchen and living areas. The previous owner had used a random mix of dark colours in the finishes throughout the house (see our ‘Before & After’ section!). Using layers of clean white with pale grey-blue allowed the house to breathe with a feeling of tranquility & positivity. New thinking about the potential of the space planning won us this project.
